Guest guest
Hi Laura, I used to buy oat groats in the health food bulk room and soak them to use in salads but they would not sprout. Also, when we ate them they seemed to have a " paste " consistency. I now buy sprouting hulless oats from Life Sprouts (lifesprouts.com). I buy these at the health food stores. They come in a reusable plastic squarish jar. After 12 hours soaking time they sprout in about a day and a half. I like the taste of these much better and eat them on salads. I don't have a clue about the rye--Life Sprouts do carry a sprouting rye. I heard the owner of Life Sprouts speak and was very impressed with his standard of excellence in his products. I use Life Sprouts sprouting trays and find them the most excellent way I have ever tried to sprout--much easier than using a jar and the seeds are hardly disturbed by the rinsing process and they store in the fridge right in the tray.
