Guest guest
Hope no one minds that I 'eavesdropped'. I also gave up salt in the beginning...I don't now for a very good reason. I naturally have low blood pressure. Without salt to hold water, my blood pressure can drop too low for my own good. However, I try to eat celery (naturally high in sodium) before giving in to the craving for salt. Nothing that appears in nature is bad (unless it is a poisonous plant). Everything serves a purpose. If you are craving salt, you might need sodium. It, along with potassium, maintains the electrolytic balance in the body. mary --- Tone <tone102 wrote: > Mare, I have seen a lot of reference to using baking > soda as a tooth cleaner. Guest guest
Salt helps us keep hydrated. When I first started raw my body " dried up " . My skin, face, mouth area. No matter how much water I drank I was not holding it in. Several months, coincientally, later I heard about a woman who died from dehydration-- strictly from eliminating all salt from her diet. I agree that salt is in some food naturally, like celery, but it may not be enough. I have found that my desire for salt is GREATLY reduced on a raw food diet. Plus, I only eat Celtic Sea Salt, which makes a huge difference. Hopefully, everyone has changed to sea salt instead of regular table salt. There is all the difference in the world between the two. -- anne
