I can only answer this from my own personal experience but can share that mine improved during a fast! j When I began making dietary changes (20+ years ago), I had very few bowel movements! I did not know anything was wrong...ignorance was not bliss. I was lucky because a very good friend of mine had made her transition to raw food under the care of a naturopath (when naturopathy was considered quackery). From her, I learned to first focus on intestinal cleansing (via enemas) before focusing on radical dietary changes. Therefore, for 6 months, I did a complete enema every week. I stopped when I could do a complete enema on Saturday night and have a large normal stool on Sunday morning. I never regretted this decision. After 7 years of transitioning to a progressively healthier and more raw diet, I decided to do nighly enemas until I could do a nightly enema and have normal morning stools for an entire week. I combined this with my iridology studies. I was astounded at the results. It took 9 months to get my intestines to function normally (in the manner mentioned). I watched the nerve energy trabeculae in my irises increase as these months passed. It was shortly after this experiment that I had my first real cleanse...an irritating but non-debilitating cold. (I had not had a cold in about 10 years.) mary > > Thanks, Ade > > > > > ===== Mary, Luvie, Ranger, & the flying brigade A smile is a silent 'hello'. owner of 'The Fully Trained Working Dog' 'Avian Health: Holistic Approach' 'Yoga for Therapy'.
