a question about amalgams

My dentist removed all (9 or 10?) amalgams in the course of around 4 or 5

visits. Here are some things he did.

1. Gave me charcoal before and after the removal

2. Had a room with some sort of ionic collector for any particles that

made their way into the air

3. covers his face with a special mask (not just the ordinary white ones)

during the actual removal

4. covers my face with a special mask (a different kind: an oxygen mask)

5. He monitors his own body's level of mercury.

Key words to use to find someone who does this sort of work are

" biological dentistry "

A google.com search of " amalgam " also yields a lot of good information.

By the way, in my prelminary appointment, he measured the level of mercury

vapor in my mouth. Below OSHA workplace standards.... until he gave me

some gum to chew, and then my mouth had mercury vapor readings ABOVE OSHA

workplace standards...

yeah, get 'em out, but pay more rather than less to do it, and have it

done by someone who uses all the precautions. Most dentists have been

tought that amalgams are perfectly safe, and as a result they don't use

adequate precautions from exposure.

Hi, this is Mary Ellen. I read with great horror about the mercury in amalgams

that someone posted. I have (get this!) eleven (11) fillings in my mouth. Six on

the bottom and five on top. This is from the 1960's and early 1970's. My dentist

is probably dead! How can I find out if these fillings contain mercury? Or...

dare I ask...do ALL fillings contain mercury? Because I'm starting to freak out

here. Angie, my darling daughter suggested I just get all of my teeth removed.

Uh... I don't think so! Please. Someone tell me something good that can be done,

before I ruin my weekend by having a nervous breakdown.

Peace, ~*~Mary Ellen~*~

Ask your present dentist and if you don't have one, check around for a

holistic dentist skilled in mecury amalgam removal. Do one filling at a

visit.

I'm starting to freak out here. Angie, my darling daughter suggested I just

get all of my teeth removed. Uh... I don't think so! Please. Someone tell me

something good that can be done, before I ruin my weekend by having a

nervous breakdown.
