Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm trying-I really am, I thought I'd join some lists for support. I'm only 25% raw on most days. The big problem I'm having (Angela, I'm thinking a lot about your comments here) is the emotional aspect of eating. I can go for a couple of weeks (feeling like I'm dying all the while) but the cravings just don't go away. If it was just me I think I could do it but with a husband that won't do it and 3 kids that starve when I give them raw and refuse the mac n cheese, how in the world do you do it? I'm so tired of whiny kids and they just eat junk when they're at their friends houses anyway, how do you stay strong when you're responsible for 4 other people. I can't bake fresh bread and not have any. HELP!!! Danika Win a $20,000 Career Makeover at HotJobs
Guest guest
Hi Danika~ What a beautiful name! I know exactly what you mean..it *is* so hard to prepare cooked food for your kids and spouse and not have any yourself. I have noticed though in the last two or three weeks that, through modelling alone, my kids are asking for more fresh foods. My three year old asked for and ate a salad for the first time this last weekend. I try to vary their diet up and not give them too much soy, like I used to. But yes it is an emotionally loaded thing. That is part of the reason I am still doing one day a week bc I want to have Indian food, and Greek food and experience culture via food realizing that I am only prolonging poor health. I want to share one last thing..On Sunday I went to eat. I had Mexican food..chips, salsa, cheese enchilada, rice and beans. Though it was good, and right away there was an addictive quality to it, every bite tasted like *lack*. Something was missing. The next day I was running around with the kids and had neglected to pack anything decent for myself. I stopped at wholefoods, grabbed a large tomato, some olives ( I know some raw foodist dont do olives bc they arent really edible from the vine), and an avocado. It was wayyyy better than the Mexican food I thought I HAD to have. It hit the spot, did the trick, and tasted like everything my body wanted. I am really enjoying talking about this stuff with all of you. I told someone recently that it was almost like a Saturday night live skit..no matter what forum you put me in ..outside, inside, at the kids school, with a group of mama friends, with relatives all you hear out of my mouth is " ...blah blah blah raw foods " . So, this is really nice! ~Angela Danika Amott <russndanika wrote: Hi everyone, I'm trying-I really am, I thought I'd join some lists for support. I'm only 25% raw on most days.
