Guest guest
Hi, this is Mary Ellen. I have the head cold from hell, I think this is day number 3 of sniffles, sneezing, coughing, etc... I have been 100% raw for 32 days in a row and I just cannot understand how I can be this sick. I mean, I eat so good! Can this be detox? Aren't we supposed to eliminate sickness when we go raw? I really feel like " death warmed over " . Should I fast? Should I just drink water? Does anybody else here get sick? Or is it just me? And if you do in fact get sick, what do you do to get over it? Peace, ~*~Mary Ellen~*~

Actually, you have been " sick " all along and what most people consider " sick " is actually the body's way of healing. We don't even say anymore that we are " sick " . Now when we detox w/the " cold/flu symptoms " we say " hey, I'm healing! " . Sniffles, sneezing, coughing etc are all ways that the body gets rid of toxins. When we first went 100% raw within the first month we started to heal and felt " sick " for 3 weeks. We stayed 100% raw for 2 years then fell off the wagon. Now when we eat junk food or too much cooked food we are " sick " the next day. Good thing though cuz that means that our bodies are still healthy enough to fight back and heal us. You can just keep doing what you are doing and ride it out and let your body do it's work. It may only last a few more days, or longer, but it will come to an end and you will feel really, really good. What ever you do don't take anything to stop it (like aspirin or herbs). That is stopping the symptoms (healing) not " curing " you and it only makes detox worse next time around. Your body will continue to detox for the rest of your life. When ever too many toxins build up in your body.....you detox...it's a great thing. It keeps us alive!
Guest guest
Okay, thanks. I really didn't know if this was detox or not. I guess I thought that detox symptoms were, somehow " different " from the common cold symptoms. I was really hoping it was detox, because the sooner I get these toxins out of my body, the sooner I will feel radiantly healthy (my goal). My face is breaking out and that's what made me think " detox " . About the herbs... I am sitting here, as we speak, drinking a cup of " detox tea " , which seems to have many " herbs " in it. I am assuming that it is OK since it does say " detox " on the box. Also, I have been taking Vitamin C. Is that OK? Do you think perhaps I should fast? Would that help speed things right along? I want to do right by my body, it's the only one I have! Sorry if I am being a total spazz. At least you all don't have to live with me. My poor family.
