Guest guest
The term " juice fasting " is an oxymoron. Juicing is juicing, and fasting is fasting. Juicing is restricted nutrition, while fasting is no nutrition. There are no juicers in Nature, juicing is a human invention, sort of trying for something in between eating and fasting, and succeeding at neither. Natural Hygiene seeks to take us back to Nature, as Nature knows best. Animals in Nature either eat, with full nutrition, when they are asymptomatic (i.e., little or no symptoms); or they fast, with no nutrition, when they have symptoms. There is no reason to not eat whole foods when one is asymptomatic and is hungry; while no foods, whether whole or fractionated, should be taken when one is acutely symptomatic. Foods in Nature come perfectly designed for us to eat, we cannot improve on them. Juicing does not seem to be significantly problematic if done in conjunction with a progam of eating, but long term exclusively juice diets, labeled " juice fasts " , being arbitrarily restricted diets lacking the benefits of whole foods, can result in malnutrition.
