Has anyone had their eyesight approve considerably with a raw food diet (80%-100%)? Hi Jennifer~ I have only recently been raw but 2 years prior to that was when I started making dietary changes~first I got rid of the sugars and dairy. Then I got rid of wheat and switched to a few alternative grains. I also gave up sweet fruits for awhile. Somewhere in there my eyesight completely improved. I threw out my glasses even though my eyes weren't extremely bad. I needed them to drive and to see for distance. If I go off my diet even for a short period of time, my eyes get blurry again. Now that I'm raw (and if I stick to it), I never have a problem! Sandy
Guest guest
Dear Jennifer, Concerning your eyes, i can tell you after 6 monthqs being raw i could see much better in the dark. i've never had any eyes problems, but as everyone, as soon as it was dark i wouldn't be able to se any kind of shadow. i guess this is because (mainly) of carottes? nAthAlIE ~~ rEAl eyeS rEAlIzE rEAl lIEs -----Message d'origine----- De : cayenne_rosemary [zen] I am curious about sprouting. I have the how to in two books that I own (both by Gabriel Cousens) but my questions is how do you get in the habit of doing it? Also, do you have to have a dehydrator or can you make enough variety of raw foods without one? (it will be a little while before I can afford one; just got the Kempo juicer that I adore!) One more quick question concerning raw food and eyesight. Has anyone had their eyesight approve considerably with a raw food diet (80%-100%)? I have decided to stop wearing my glasses (my eyes are not that bad) and encourage eye health through herbs, exercises and raw foods. Guest guest
I have only been raw for almost 3 weeks (70-80%) And I have noticed when I go for my daily walks outdoors, that colours seem more vivid to me. Anyone else experiencing this? It's been fun when I am driving to realize all the greens and the blue of the sky, all colours are so vibrant! I promise I am not doing any drugs! I am juicing at least twice a day and I use just a little carrot and beet each time with the rest of my veggies: celery, tomato, cucumber, dark leafy greens like spinach and kale. As for dehydrators, I don't have an excalibur (but would like to get one in the future) I have an inexpensive one (Ronco/American Harvest brand) that I bought at a discount store for about 30 american dollars around 7 years ago...it works fine! I have been making flax and wheat sprout crackers in it. Sprouting? Just start and you will get a feel as to how often to replenish your supply. I soak wheat (1 cup) for rejuvelac about every other or third day. The wheat sprouts well after I've used it twice with no trouble, but as cousens suggests, it's always a good thing to wash the wheat well and spritz it with a weak solution of hydrogen peroxide after you've soaked it for rejuvelac and when you are getting ready to sprout it for grass/ bread/ crackers. Guest guest
Thanks for the responses. It will be hard to stick to a raw diet with my hubby (a meat eater) eating cooked foods but I am certainly going to give it my all and try to get my daughter on it as well. Thanks, Jennifer
Guest guest
Jennifer, Hang in there. My hubby is a die-hard, flesh-eating carnivore. I asked him if he would go " vegetarian " for just one day during the Great American Meat-Out and he said " No Way! I Love my meat! " I still have to cook him his " meat and potatoes " every nite, which makes me want to hurl, but I do it anyway, to keep peace, you know. I have been 100% raw for 27 days now (in a row). I feel great and I try not to preach to him, which he really hates. Angie (my dd) on the other hand is very bold and will tell him how horrible the furry little animals are for him that he is devouring. Occasionally, he will venture into the kitchen while Angie and I are doing our thing and grab a piece of fruit or something and say " Look honey, I'm eating a live food! " Anyway, I always thought that I would have to cook two separate meals, but I really don't. I cook him a murdered animal and some sort of horrible side-dish and I just have fruit or juice. It was somewhat hard at first because I really am a good " cook " and I missed eating what I cooked, but now I just look at it and think " Ugh, poison. " You can do it Jennifer! Guest guest
You bet! I live near the Gulf of Mex. along the Florida panhandle. Yesterday, after work, I stood on the city marina pier watching the setting light upon the moving waves. The light turned the waves a pastel blue-green and for a moment I could feel the blue-green light all around me, bathing everything. It was truly stunning, and I have noticed this increased sense of color identification and perception since I have gone raw; but I also paint so my inclination to notice color is already there. tev errp3 <singermuse wrote: I have only been raw for almost 3 weeks (70-80%) And I have noticed when I go for my daily walks outdoors, that colours seem more vivid to me. The experience of dynamic religious living transforms the mediocre individual into a personality of idealistic power. Religion ministers to the progress of all through fostering the progress of each individual, and the progress of each is augmented through the achievement of all.
