Guest guest
I frequent a variety of raw food groups and have noticed a lot of members discussing the Master Cleanse(lemonade cleanse). The only ingrediant which may be questionable on the MC is honey ....but I'm not sure. Does anyone know if this cleanse is acceptable on a raw vegan diet? Diabetics may use black strap molasses, but many consider that a no- no as well. Here's the Formula: -Juice of One lemon. - 1 or 2 tablespoonsful of Maple Syrup. -1/10 teaspoon of cayenne, or to taste[the hotter the better] -One quart room temperature pure water. Drink 2 of these per day but don't chug it, sip it slowly over time. You should also drink at least as much fresh water and you may have some vegetable broth if you wish. The protocol is a minumum 10 days on the master cleanse. If you go on it, check back regarding the optional salt water flush. >Does anyone know if this cleanse is acceptable on a raw > vegan diet? The Maple Syrup has been reduced by heat and although you can get organic, it's not raw. rusty - " Lili " <ladyschaumburg <rawfood > Tuesday, April 13, 2004 1:22 PM [Raw Food] Master Cleanse & Raw Veganism > I frequent a variety of raw food groups and have noticed a lot of > members discussing the Master Cleanse(lemonade cleanse). Guest guest
Hey Lili, Alot of raw foodists do the MC. I am gearing up for one myself. I did a couple of short ones but if it isn't my stomach giving me agony then it is something else (always the damned excuse) LOL If you go to the MC group at and find post #9, you can read all about it there. I cannot be certain but I think Rhonda posted that one. I think she is on one of our lists here though I get confused...ha The Maple syrup that should be used is grade B as it supposingly contains more minerals and stuff. I believe that grade C was once sold and is no longer. I have just regular grade A here now and figure that I will survive if I do it with that. I mix mine one glass at a time with a big squeeze of lemon, I use one TB of the syrup and a nice shake of cayenne to pure water. That is just the way I do it of course and many who have to go off to work and for convience sake and all that, premix it up for their day. hope that helped some It is rotten and rainy here...ugh I need Spring!! Love and Hugs, Toni I frequent a variety of raw food groups and have noticed a lot of members discussing the Master Cleanse(lemonade cleanse). The only ingrediant which may be questionable on the MC is honey ....but I'm not sure. Does anyone know if this cleanse is acceptable on a raw vegan diet? a.. Guest guest
Hi Lili, I'm currently on my 7th day of the MC and I am a raw foodist. The MC doesn't utilize honey. Just maple syrup and there are other alternatives if you are diabetic or have access to raw sugar canes. Check out the MC group. There is a file that explains a little more about the cleanse on the site. Hope this helps. Ariana
