Hi there!

I'm micki up here in Northern California

For a number of years I've been around 50% raw using the " zone diet " as a

guideline. Basically eating all my fruits and veggies raw, and suplementing with

what I perceived as needed animal protein. I say perceived because lately I've

felt the need to eliminate animal products altogether, but was in a dilemma as

to what to substitute for it that wasn't SOY based. It seems that soy is in

everything, and since it is VERY genetically hibridized and modified and some

say it even contributes to higher breast cancer rates, I wanted to avoid it too.

I have found the pate' recipes out of books and on line are very helpful in

solving this " need " of mine. I realize it's probably only a psychological one.

So now I've been about a week at 80-100% raw, and love it.

To the lovely " junk food vegan " I know how you feel.

I'm a bit spoiled where I live due to having access to a good assortment of

organic and local produce.

It takes time to transit. It's taken years for me. What I've been using as

" comfort food " are avocadoes, coconut, and hummus.

I know these might be expensive, but at least hummus is a good choice and maybe

more available where you are in the UK?

You might also try some blended " soups " like gazpacho as a comforting fill up

and much healthier than the processed stuff in the market. Also a good way to

sneak in some more variety of veggies!

blessings,

micki
