Sheryl Hi Sheryl, although it is considered " normal " for a woman to have a period each month, this guage is based on women who consume a standard american diet or other unhealthy meals. However, it is a scientific fact that a woman can be healthy and normal and only have 3 periods a year without being a raw foodist. It's rare, but possible. Also, keep in mind that there are women who are pregnant and still have regular periods(as i did for months), or who get pregnant DURING their period. So I'm inclined to question that monthly blood flow determines how fertile a woman is. Since improving lifestyle my period lasts for 1-2 days and the flow is very light with hardly any odor. Previously, I used super pads and had to change them every few hours, and sometimes my period lasted for weeks. It's sad to think that many women have rushed to have major surgery based entirely on a doctor who tells them what is " normal " or not. Had I listened to doctors I would have been on 4 different medications to correct my hormonal inbalances(period, thyroid, and more). However, with patience, nutrition changes, and exercise, my hormones corrected themselves. Although I have yet to experience loss of menstrual flow due to being a raw foodist, if it occurs and it is determined that there isn't an underlying medical problem, I won't lose sleep over it. :)Lili p.s. Guest guest
I have not typed here much in a long time but one of the main reasons I transitioned to a raw diet was to stop the incredible loss of blood each month - every month I eat healthier I have a lighter flow and not so grumpy. I really don't think we were meant to bleed each month while we swung through the trees leaving a trail of blood for every carnivore for miles to find - it never made sense to me.
