April Cleaning

Just wanted to send an update for anyone who remembers my big April

cleaning quest. I can't say I have accomplished a WHOLE LOT - since

yesterday was only day number one - but I did survive. I have a

whole new appreciation for people recovering from alcoholism. I have

realized - I have a MASSIVE addiction to food. My goal for the first

week of April is to complete the lemon juice fast (otherwise known as

the Master Cleanse). It's very hard for me to adjust to the thought

of not eating " real " food - I know it is totally psychological -

especially since I know this fast provides the necessary amount of

calories I need to get thru my day. I've tried doing this before -

I've never made it one entire day - so I guess surviving yesterday is

a big accomplishment for me.

As for the actually cleaning process - I did manage to clean up my

room last night. I still have a TON of boxes to go thru - but

cleaning up my room was a start...right? I can always catch up this

weekend - thank goodness!

Has anyone here ever done the lemon juice fast (lemon juice, maple

syrup, cayenne pepper)? I'd LOVE to hear any success stories or any

words of encouragement you have.

Thanks!

KC

Undoubtedly the best fast is of water.

Adding sugar is like pushing both pedals of a vehicle simultaneously.

Better to just turn off the digestive system - give your self a break and

let the body heal which it most certainly will do. There is an endless

store of fat on a human body so do not worry about calories.

Bon courage

KC, I have done the MC three times. The first two were for 16 days

each. The last was for 9 days. This time I came right off into

high raw (100% minus one slice of cheddar cheese per day). Each

time I went through heavy detox symptoms, and all of my cravings for

unhealthy foods was gone (with the exception of cheese). I am

looking forward to continuing my cleansing with the raw food diet.

I hope to find a raw cheese recipe that I love so I can wean myself

off the dead stuff.

I also lost a lot of weight on the MC's. But it comes back if you

don't watch what you eat afterwards. This time, I only put 3 pounds

back on, and that's from the weight of food in my digestive tract.

I feel so much better now, and its only the MC that has given me the

strength to transition to raw!

RC - Day 5 of transition
