Guest guest
Hi I am new to this group and also new to raw foods. I have not made the step to 100% raw yet but I am vegan and eat mostly raw right now. I'm having a really hard time getting enough food. And I don't mean that I am hungry, I mean I don't have enough ideas to eat raw all day without eating the same thing everyday which bores me and then I can't keep with it. I was wondering if people would be intersted in posting what they have eaten from the moment they woke up until they went to bed on a typical day. Hopefully this will help give me as well as other newbies some more ideas ) btw, just a quick introduction...My name is Abbey and I am 23 years old. I have suffered my whole life being underweight, fatiqued, and dizzy spells due to not eating enough. I found out at 22 that I can not process preservatives and so my body had instinctively not wanted me to eat -- it found a balance between getting enough food and eating as little " poison " as possible. I got really really sick and dropped to about 85lbs (I'm 5'4 " ) and ended up in the hospital with extreme abdomen pain. After many tests I finally found a doctor who recognized my symptoms, unfortunately she was not very knowledgeable about the problem. Following her advice I was eating more and still very sick. I did research and discovered foods only have to be labelled at 10ppm or higher and many other things so I decided to go onto a 100% home cooked diet and completely elimated every preservative, additive, chemical, hormone, etc. After a couple months I felt so better but the food preparation time was killing me and I was having a really hard time finding recipes that didn't include soy-based meat substitutes (it amazes me how much vegetarians rely on soy products!). On my search for recipes that used base ingredients instead of " soy mayo, soy cheese, tofu, etc etc, " I found http://www.thegardendiet.com and became very intriqued with the diet. I was so close to raw anyway (eating only muffins, granola bars, milk - which I didn't like but didn't want to drink the substitutes, and soup) that it didn't seem like it would be a hard transition. Unfortunately as I mentioned above I am struggling and would love any help I can get! Here is the photo of me so far: http://www.the-space-lab.com/abbey/pictures.jpg As you can see I look way healthier once I eliminated the preservatives, etc, and I feel much better but if I am going to spend all this time being healthy I figure I might as well go the whole way and be raw ) okay that wasn't such a quick introduction...lol Thanks! -Abbey =)
