Janey x p.s. For some reason I can't snip your post. Hi Kelly, congratulations on giving up meat and welcome to our group. Think of milk as liquid meat, pus or bodily animal fluid ... like piss. Besides everything else in it .... it contains a substance called casomorphine, which is what makes it so addictive. Substitute sweet berries and fruit for sugar ... that would help you alot. I eat only fruit all day long until I get home from work. Then I eat one big salad and a big bowl of steamed vegies ... no salt, no fat and no grains. I pretty much eat the same every day, except on weekends, when I have time to shop for more exotic fruits and vegies. At age 55, 5'6", I weigh in at 140 lbs. Also without salt or fat in my diet, I tolerate the heat of summer extremely well .... Paradise is where I am ... Werner. ---- Wednesday, June 26, 2002 5:47:47 PM Almost vegan Hi everyone! I'm really new to veganism & just had a couple ofquestions. I didn't have a problem giving up meat, but I feel almost"addicted" to milk. I get really bad cravings for it (I was drinking1 litre a day, and have recently cut back a lot). I actually found iteasier to quit smoking after 7 years, than give up dairy. Is coldturkey the best way to deal with this? Of course, I look alot better nowadays. All that good food and no more condiments ... no fat, no salt, no sugar and no grains ... just heavenly fruits and vegies.
