Guest guest
Not sure who I'm answering Peter or Jo, also not sure about animals living longer in the wild rather than in captivity but can believe it if the animals have had their feeling of freedom taken away, but I'm sure the idea of animals living together in peace includes captivity, on the contrary, they would be free from the fear of attack If you look at doom; cats and doom; dogs for instants that are treated well by humans ,a lot of them look very happy and like the attention of humans, but if you look at their cousins in the wild they are less friendly for obvious reasons, The question is would humans and animal's ( some people call humans animals I know) be better off if animals didn't eat animals and would nature except it, I for one think yes, also I have heard it said that African grey parrots can live twice as long domesticated 30 yrs or so, I must admit I don't like the idea of birds in small cages , maybe in a very large aviaries, if the birds are happy and safe surely that must be the main thing, I also don't believe nature wants to be cruel even though it is, surely our consciences' should tell us to stop cruelty and to preserve life!
