Hi Goosey-

 

I did post yesterday, but I think alot of people must have missed it, that my

original email (part quoted below) on this subject was intended to be

ironic/sarcastic...

 

My view is that to give blood is an act of unqualified altruism, this is a

*good*

thing in my view. Any attempts at eroding this principle by any sort of vetting

of

who should and should and shouldn't get blood, be they donor pressure groups

(including vegans) or the health authorities, are unethical.

Hi Graham,

 

I did reckon you weren't being serious - but I was

just trying to justify (mostly to myself) why I dont

give blood - which I do feel guilty about - and

personally I wouldnt care who my blood went to - we've

all got as much right to this life as the next one -

and ok, some people dont share our ideals and actually

take life, but then thats their life (hmm, too many

life's in that sentence)
