Inside Scoop: How to Buy Organic ** Greenpeace, GE Free Markets Coalition Announce Launch of Supermarket Campaign Greenpeace, joining with GE Free Markets Coalition, will launch the next National Supermarket Campaign in March. Activists and concerned consumers will gather together in front of supermarkets to demand that the food retailers remove genetically engineered food from their store brands. The National Days of Action will take place on: Tuesday, March 12th on the East Coast Wednesday, March 13th in the Midwest Thursday, March 14th on the West Coast The names of the targeted supermarkets will be released the week of February 25th. Meanwhile, please mark your calendar and let us know if you would like to participate in an event in your area. Greenpeace is launching a True Food Network Regional Organizer Program. The Program is designed for people who want to be a part of the Greenpeace Genetic Engineering Campaign by volunteering 10 hours a week. Participants in the program will be flown to a training, given a small stipend to cover some materials and will have contact with other regional organizers.
