Become a Greenpeace True Food Regional Organizer!

Want to help put a stop to genetically engineered food?

Want sustainable, not corporate controlled agriculture?

Have ten hours a week to volunteer on one of the most

dynamic GE food campaigns?

If the answer is YES, then the

Greenpeace True Food Regional Organizer program

may be for you!

The Program:

Greenpeace is looking for activists to work with us as

True Food Network Organizers on our

Genetically Engineered (GE) food campaign.

Organizers will assist with the Greenpeace GE food

campaign by:

- Organizing local events

(e.g. leafleting events in front of local supermarkets,

speaker events at community centers, etc.)

- Communicating with members of the public and the media

- Networking with local groups and the community

The program includes free organizing skills training,

a stipend to cover basic material costs, networking with

other Regional Organizers and the chance to work on some

of the most dynamic campaigns to stop genetically engineered

food and promote sustainable agriculture.

The program begins in March with a training and orientation

for all the organizers. The program is will last for 12 months.

Regular conference calls and support from Greenpeace campaigners

will be on going throughout the year.

The Regions:

We are looking for activists in these cities:

Austin

Boston

Burlington, VT

Chicago

Denver

Los Angeles

Phoenix

Sacramento

Seattle

Tucson

Qualifications:

Whether you are a member of a local group already

working on the GE food issue or just someone ready to get

active in your community, you should consider applying.

We are looking for people passionately opposed to GE foods

and interested in publicly working with Greenpeace on

local campaign activities, including local petition drives,

community events and outreach to local groups.

We are looking for people with good communication skills,

the ability to work well independently and some organizing

experience (whether it is organizing your local PTA fund

raiser or petition drive with your Green Party chapter).

Application process:

Applications are due February 25th, please include references.

Applicants will be notified by March 4th if you are accepted

into the program. If accepted, we will have a weekend long

orientation and training in your area. We will provide travel,

accommodation and food.

If you are interested in applying please fill out our online

application at
