<In responce to Bill Oreilly of the Oreilly factor>

Bill,

You said, " I don't understand why anyone who is a citizen or just

living here would be offended by the American flag "

Well, sir, I don't know about Political correctness (that seems a bit

unrealistic to me) but I've personally seen my fill of American

flags. I guess you are simply uninformed about the population that

resides in " America " who are philosophically, and intellectually

opposed to all forms of self-contempt and belittlement of

individuality. So I will inform you why I (and I speak on behalf of

myself) do not support the American Flag:

To me, the American flag was just an ordinary, useless symbol to the

simple-minded Euro-anglo descendants that were so unconditionally

convinced that " their " country was the ultimate throne of the world.

In midst of such frivolity you had those who were indifferent to any

sort of emotion to their country and those who were still struggling

against it. After these tragedies, the indifferent population

fluctuated and now crusade for a nationalistic, patriotic (American)

universe. Shortly after the attacks on Sept 11th, many peoples mind's

had been instantly reduced to clay when the profound levels of

patriotic drivel began spewing forth, not to mention enforced. Then

the incarnation of the new pretentious, narrow-minded slogan (which

destroyed the last one in its wake) had taken shape, " if you do not

like it here, go to Afghanistan! " . This " dominant opinion " nonsense,

despite of its obvious " uniting " abilities, closed several doors for

the neo-revolutionary population of " America " ; Leaving those (who

still opposed the tyranny and arrogance of a corrupt democratic-

republic and struggled to create a truly free society) individuals to

be subject to a relentless onslaught of vile, and hideously blind

patriotism- Transforming humanitarians into " Traitors " . Not to

mention all of the other side affects that this dilemma has caused:

Blind spots, justified racism, mass media confusion, distrust, and

quite possibly the most annoying- The lust to prove just how

patriotic " we " can be.

It's because of all of the aforementioned that I look at the American

flag in a brand new perspective: A symbol of pure idiocy.

This might sound general (and doesn't in anyway whatsoever describe

the entire American population) but these post-events have led me to

this new and accurate view. When I see a 5 year old waving around an

American flag and a 35 year old (with almost the same mentality)

doing the same, I know exactly what America is about: Lies, False

hopes, and an emotional facade followed by a soul swallowing

catharsis.

If it weren't for the fact that we were attacked by " muslims " who

happen to be from a different " country " then this rubbish (which I

can only assume will grow worse) wouldn't have happened at all. This

denotes an obvious racial war, and racial hysteria and xenophobia--

which is unfortunately justified beyond logic. For if it were a

white " Christian American " who were to have executed the same

attacks, consisting of the same duplicity than it would have been

over after a few vigils, ribbons, and boo hooing, would it not?

But now, almost everyday, on the bus to my high school, and on my

joyous walks through the suburbs, I get to be cleansed in patriotic

ecstasy merely because my government and the society I live among are

ruthless, racist zombies. I'm utterly nauseated by these stooges who

would sooner hoist up a flag than to process a thought in their puny,

decadent minds.

I have nothing to do with terrorism, thus I have nothing to do with

the wars others create.

Haven't us free thinkers had to endure enough balderdash in our

lives as it is? It is the curse of the genius I suppose, and my

society does nothing but fuel my contempt for idiom, and stupidity.

Cheers!

E//A

It's much the same here - a little more subdued - but what do you expect

from Britain. Anyway, the stupidity is the same.
