Guest guest
The various chemicals used. At home I use a simple, plant-based washing-up liquid, with which I am comfortable and which I am reasonably convinced is not injurious. The powder they use at work leaves the cups and glasses feeling as though they have a deposit on them. I've heard nothing in particular about dishwasher powders being harmful, but on general priciples I avoid consuming unnecessary substances. Also (although I have not mentioned this) the manufacturers are one of the large animal-unfriendly lot. I know that rinsing my own crockery won't make any difference but I just feel better not using it. I also don't know for a fact that carbonless (ie treated) paper can be hazardous if ingested, but why take it in if you don't need to?
