Guest guest
" Probably me being daft, but I'm not quite sure which side you're on - pro war or anti. " " All the Marxists I know believe that the best way to bring about an end to Capitalism is by educating the normal people how the imperialists are using them - that way the people will demand a change to the systems that currently govern us - they are, without exception, pacifists - if you go to the anti-war March on Sunday, you'll be able to meet several thousand of them " Hello, what do the words " Defeat the imperialists! " mean to you? Yep, Lenin (you know, the guy who led the Russian Revolution) had some very unkind things to say about " the Marxists " who were " without exception, pacifists " ! Karl Marx WAS NOT A PACIFIST! It is no good saying you are against imperialist war and preaching pacifism to the people because pacifism is never going to destroy the imperialist war machine. If you are against imperialist war then you must " educate " the people in the spirit of insurrection and civil war to DEFEAT the imperialists. That was the Bolshevik policy of " revolutionary defeatism " ! PEACE to the COTTAGES, WAR to the PALACES! Let's have some of that! Or are you just going to go on banging your little drum and singing " we shall overcome " forever? Yeah, that's really got the US Air Force worried, hasn't it? Let's sing it one more time, shall we? Everyone knows the typical Guardian readers' " criticism " of war is full of shit, affected, shallow and hypocritical because everyone knows who these people stand behind when capitalist profits are really threatened! Yeah, that's > really got the US Air Force worried, hasn't it? Let's sing it one more time, > shall we? I think you are being a little harsh. Just because you might not frighten the US airforce, is no reason not to stand up and be counted for what you believe in. I agree with you that the only way for things to improve is for the population themselves to overthrow the leaders, but at the same time I think it is definitely wrong for America and Britain to be bombing the Afghan people - and because of that I am prepared to be seen as being against the war. >Everyone knows the typical Guardian readers' " criticism " of war is > full of shit, affected, shallow and hypocritical because everyone knows who > these people stand behind when capitalist profits are really threatened! I think I would probably agree with you, but I don't like the ways newspapers manipulate so the last time I bought one was 34 years ago. I don't give monetary support to things I don't like.
