Hi Chris

> what kind of progmetal?

Easiest to name a few bands - Dream Theater (obviously!), Shadow Gallery,

Symphony X, Royal Hunt, Rhapsody, Vanden Plas, Empty Tremor (damn good band,

but virtually unknown), Spocks Beard, Conception, Majestic, Sonata Arctica,

etc.

> That's not really my thing,but I'm

> interested in what you define as prog,we may share some interests

> there as well....you like Rhapsody?

Yeah - one of my favourites - also, Luca Turilli's solo album and Vision

Divine! Unfortunately, there's no indication that they'll ever tour the UK

:-(

> But yeah,Emperor rules..have you

> heard the new album?GODLY!

Interesting thing with me and Emperor - I don't actually know any of their

material by name - but apparently I'm really influenced by them in the stuff

I write (so I'm told)!!! Bizarre!

> that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!!! I can tell you that

I dunno - I think they've got a couple of nutters who've got to the top of

the party, and are running it as their own personal platform.

Definitely. Prepare for the shocked responses from UK list-members. The

Canadian Green Party have run a huge campaign against David Icke. Now, for

you and other non UK members, David Icke was a footballer turned

commentator. He then had an extreme spiritual experience, and started trying

to express his new spirituality. This is a dangerous thing to do as a

football commentator in the UK (Glenn Hoddle did something similar, although

not to the same extent) - the press pounced on him, misquoted him and

basically ridiculed him at every turn - for about 2 years in the 1980s his

name was synonymous with lunacy, and this is still the general opinion of

him in the UK - which is sad, because it means a lot of people don't listen

to what he has to say! Now, for the past ten years, he's been writing books

exposing conspiracies and all sorts of other nasty things that our

governments get up to. Now, I don't necessarily agree with all his

conclusions - but (putting on the " historian " hat) his books are some of the

best researched I have ever read. Sorry, that's just the intro...

Now, David Icke also does lectures. However, the Canadian Green Party have

decided that David Icke is anti-Semitic. They provide no evidence to back up

this claim, but for the space of two years or more, they have been sending

material to every place he is booked to speak making false claims about his

work. Unfortunately, most of the venues are so afraid of legal action, they

cancel the lectures without bothering to check up. This is not helped by the

fact that the Canadian Green Party also has succeeded in fooling the

Anti-Nazi League in the UK into picketing every place where David Icke is

booked to appear. I have personally had a long e-mail discussion with the

Anti-Nazi league over this - they have provided no evidence to back up their

claims beyond the material sent to them by the Canadian Greens - they can

not quote a single line of David Icke's material (either spoken or written)

to even suggest he is racist. They have not even bothered to check up on the

people who sent the material - if they had, they'd have found that the same

people seem to want to see statues of Ku Klux Klan founders kept intact!

When tackled on this, the only response they could give was " David Icke is

racist, but we don't have the time to go into further detail " (but they've

got the time to picket his lectures???) - Sorry, this is something that

really wound me up!

> Well,it damn sure isn't policy of the Green Party *I'm* involved

> in!!! Again, this is ridiculous and appalling...honestly,me and you

> should talk about this offlist...if what you say is true,I'd like to

> see about getting these cats " de-Greened " ,so to speak

Definitely - feel free to e-mail me off-list, but don't worry about carrying

on the conversation on list - the whole point of this list is that there is

no such thing as " off-topic " !

>...hmm,I'm

> wondering..there is a group that exists that is bastardising the

Great (due to limitations of e-mail, this is intoned with a heavy sense of

sarcasm)!

> the " Greens " you've encountered are a faction of this group,and not

> the true Greens? I dunno,it's a suggestion. But let's talk...

They could well be connected in some way - i.e. in terms of discrediting

Greens. They seem to be from the opposite end of the spectrum, though - the

Canadian Greens are very closely linked to B'nai Brith - one of those

minority groups who outwardly claim to be representing " Jewish interests " ,

but actually seem to be designed to stir up anti-Semitic fervour! But I tend

to think that these groups and the Nazi groups actually work in tandem, even

though they outwardly represent opposites!

You too.

a ha!!! Now I get it...we have a similar problem here..the Anti

Defamation League,supposed to be a great anti-racist group,right?

Well, apparently they have our ARA(Anti-Racist Action) group on their

list of hate groups. ummm..hello? Yeah, they alkso have the anarchy @

circle-A right next to the swastika and other racist symbols as a

racist symbol..they piss me off...but we have one of our

people " working " for them now....tryin to get to the bottom of

them..I'm baffled as to their motives.

Indeedy - you'll also notice that they share offices with B'nai Brith -

small world, isn't it!

I seem to recall that, in the last 18 months the ADL have had to pay out

over 5 million dollars in defamation cases - there's irony for you!

Just to give a bit more info on B'nai Brith - they are a very small group

who claim to be Jewish - they present what could be classified as

fundamentalist ultra-orthodox Judaism - i.e. that Jews are the chosen

people, and are superior to gentiles. Now, we're both intelligent enough to

realise that this is simply a group of right wing extremists - no different

to any other Nazi style organisation - but the way they present themselves

publicly is as representing the Jewish people - which a lot of people fall

for.

> Well, apparently they have our ARA(Anti-Racist Action) group on their

> list of hate groups. ummm..hello?

If I didn't already know about the ADL, I'd probably be surprised!

> Yeah,they alkso have the anarchy @

> circle-A right next to the swastika and other racist symbols as a

> racist symbol.

And the swastika isn't even a racist symbol anyway - it was just adopted by

Hitler!

>.they piss me off...but we have one of our

> people " working " for them now....tryin to get to the bottom of

> them..I'm baffled as to their motives.

Good luck - I'll be interested to hear what you find. If you want my theory

on their motives...

Simple - they wish to create a divided society - in continually highlighting

what they call anti-Semitism (even where none exists), they continue to draw

a cultural line which becomes increasingly harder to ignore. It creates

suspicion and hatred between those on either side of the line which manages

to distract everybody from what is really going on. The real issue is

supression of truth - anybody who comes too close can simply be accused of

anti-Semitism (please note - most of the people accused of anti-Semitism are

wrongly accused) - and, because the ADL have done such a good job of

brainwashing everyone into believing what a great organisation they are,

nobody will read the works of people branded anti-Semitic or " holocaust

deniers " - a phrase which is used to refer to anybody who points out that,

alongside the millions of Jews killed in concentration camps were millions

of homosexuals, gypsies, trade unionists, etc. The real downside of this is

that actual anti-Semitism gets lost in the melee.

That's my twopennorth.
