Guest guest
Hi all. Nice to get my first Digest from . I live in Johannesburg South Africa & as there are very few Vegans here I spend a lot of time on the internet contacting Vegan Groups internationaly. I have been a Vegetarian for over 20 years & became Vegan (eating, makeup & household product wise) in December last year. I still have to sort out my wardrobe but have already started by only purchasing y Vegan clothes when I need replacements, only problem is shoes.........we don't have much choice here & with the Rand / Pound exchange rate I certainly cannot afford to import shoes from England. Cheers Jackie Ford (alias Gemimaza)
Guest guest
Hi Jackie & Kate Welcome to both of you - good to see new members (and new Vegans!) :-) >.we don't have much choice > here & with the Rand / Pound exchange rate I certainly cannot afford to > import shoes from England. I doubt you'd be able to pay for them anyway with South African laws - the government doesn't like letting money out the country - it's a major problem for me, as I work in a UK accounts department dealing with South African clients!!! What are facilities like in South Africa for Vegans? BB Peter --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
