Angie,

Thanks so much for sharing that! It makes a whole lot of sense!

I am a definate truth seeker and want to encourage the same in my little

boy, so I can just imagine myself having a very similar approach. It's very

reassuring to hear that this attitude can work so well. I guess trying to

protect vegan children from the truth about the way of life they are living

will only backfire in a world that is so unbalanced.

So the truth it is!!!! This is the only thing that will work. Refering to

meat as an animal, evokes emotion, so I shall use that word from now on too.

When he's a little older he can ask his dad why he eats dead animals! Come

to think of it, he is only two, and I am already having to say to him 'we

don't eat that, baby chicks grow inside eggs, we don't want to eat beautiful

animals, do we?'(there's only so much you can say to a two year old). He

replies, with a 'no'. I show and tell him a lot that we should be gentle

with animals (and even insects).

thanks so much for sharing your experience!

oh and is that the annual MCL get together that you mentioned? is it a

family gathering? I d to the MCL newsletter for a few years before

Joe came into the world (then my membership ran out one day, and having

tonnes on my plate, I never renewed).

love

You're going the right way Get your child to understand not to hurt things

..Talk to him about whether the animal has a mum/dad/children etc

He will look on the animal as a creature with its own needs /fears/joys

instead of the attitude of so many people " but what use is a pigeon "

These sad pople only see things in relation to themselves .Only a pigeon

knows whether it has any use/ whether it enjoys its lifeetc .W should mind

our own business !!
