Guest guest Posted October 23, 2000 Report Share Posted October 23, 2000 * Exported from MasterCook * Bavarian Vanilla Sauce Recipe By : Margit Ott, Munich Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : German Salsas, Sauces & Spreads Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 3 egg yolks 2 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons vanilla sugar 1 tablespoon cornstarch 1 1/2 cups milk 1 vanilla bean Mix the yolks, sugar, vanilla sugar and cornstrach stirring vigorously until smooth. Add tje milk, beating it with a whisk. Slit the vanilla bean lenghtwise and scrape out the seeds to the egg and milk mixture. Beat over mild heat until the sauce begins to thicken--do not boil!
