It is also great the next day as a sandwich filler - Enjoy! * Exported from MasterCook * Garbanzo Loaf Recipe By : Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:15 Categories : Beans & Legumes Vegan Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 each onion -- chopped 1/2 each green pepper -- chopped 2 cups garbanzo beans -- mashed 1/2 cup peanut butter -- or almond butter 1 tablespoon oil 1 cup tomato sauce 3 tablespoons flour 1 teaspoon sage 4 cloves garlic 1 teaspoon salt 2 cups bread crumbs -- toasted Saute onion and green pepper. Mix all the ingredients together and place into an oiled loaf pan. Bake in a shallow pan of water at 350 for 1 hour Yield: " 1 loaf " Start to Finish Time: " 1:15 " - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Per serving: 429 Calories (kcal); 15g Total Fat; (29% calories from fat); 18g Protein; 60g Carbohydrate; 0mg Cholesterol; 773mg Sodium Food Exchanges: 3 1/2 Grain(Starch); 1 Lean Meat; 1/2 Vegetable; 0 Fruit; 2 1/2 Fat; 0 Other Carbohydrates NOTES : I left out the oil and sauted the onion, garlic and green pepper in water. I toasted whole wheat bread to make the bread crumbs. I pureed the garbanzo beans in the blender before adding to the rest of the ingredients. Nutr.
