Lemon Ginger Tofu or Tempeh

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1/2 tablespoon organic lemon zest

2 tablespoons tamari soy sauce

1 tablespoon grated onion

1 clove garlic -- pressed

1/2 tablespoon grated fresh gingerroot

1 pound White Wave firm tofu -- cut in 8 slices

2 teaspoons sesame seeds

 

Mix together the lemon juice, zest, tamari, onion, garlic, and gingerroot.

Arrange the tofu slices in one layer in a glass or stainless pan. Pour the

lemon mixture over the tofu, and marinate from 2 to 24 hours.

 

Broiler Method: Preheat the broiler. Sprinkle the tofu slices with the sesame

seeds, and broil 4 to 5 minutes until browned.

 

Stovetop Method: Brown the tofu slices on both sides in a small amount of soy

or ollive oil. Spriinkle with sesame seeds and serve.

 

Variation: Replace the tofu with 1 pound White Wave Soy Rice Tempeh that has

been steamed for 20 minutes, and cut into 1/2-inch slices.
