Guest guest Posted September 28, 2000 Report Share Posted September 28, 2000 * Exported from MasterCook * White Basmati Rice in the Pressure cooker Recipe By :Great Vegetarian Cooking under Pressure ( Lorna Sass ) , pg 141 Serving Size : 3 Preparation Time :0:12 Categories : Grains, Pilafs And Potatoes Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 1/2 cups water or stock 1/2 teaspoon salt -- ( more or less ) 1 cup extra long grain Basmati rice herbs or flavorings to taste Bring the water or stock , flavorings and salt to a boil in the cooker. Stir in the rice. Lock the lid in place and bring to high pressure ( 2nd red ring ) over high heat. Lower the heat enough to just maintain high pressure and cook for 3 minutes. Allow pressure to come down by natural release method, quick releasing any pressure that remains after 7 minutes.
