Guest guest Posted September 27, 2000 Report Share Posted September 27, 2000 * Exported from MasterCook * Quick Curried Chick Peas Recipe By : The 20/30 Fat & Fiber Diet Plan, by Mirkin & Fox, page 124 Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Main Dishes, Vegetarian Grains And Cereals Mirkin's 20/30 Fat & Fiber Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 10 ounces frozen bell pepper-onion mixture 32 ounces canned chick peas -- drained 2 cups Italian plum tomatoes -- undrained, broken up 2 teaspoons bouillon granules OR 2 bouillon cubes 1 tablespoon mild curry powder 1 pinch cayenne pepper -- or to taste 10 ounces packaged frozen spinach -- thawed and drained 2 cups cooked oat groats or barley OR other whole grain of your choice Combine all ingredients except the grains in a pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, 5 to 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Serve over whole grains.
