Add the sesame, mustard, and fenugreek seeds and toast, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the seeds start popping. Place in a mortar, nut grater, or blender and grind just until the seeds are partially ground and and the oils have dampened the salt. Do not puree into a paste. Add the salt, basil, and garlic. Description: " Goma is Japanese for sesame seed, and gomashio is a delightful mixture of seeds and sea salt, here embellished with a touch of herbs and licorice. Serve sprinkled over cold noodles or in soups.
