Asparagus with Sesame Dip

1 bunch thin asparagus -- trimmed

1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce

1/2 cup plain rice vinegar

1 cup sesame seeds -- toasted

 

In a covered steamer or saucepan, steam the asparagus over boiling water until

crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. Plunge then into cold water and drain. Fan out

on a large serving platter.

 

Mix the soy sauce and rice vinegar together in a small bowl and serve cold

alongside the asparagus. Place the sesame seeds in another bowl.

 

Have guests dip each asparagus spear in the soy sauce, then into the sesame

seeds.

 

Description:

" This dish provides a mouth-pleasing sensation of crisp and crunch,

plus dipping ease. Lightly steamed stalks are dipped in soy and

vinegar, then in toasted sesame. "
