Guest guest Posted August 25, 2000 Report Share Posted August 25, 2000 * Exported from MasterCook * Cabbage Garbanzo Filling for Pierogi's Recipe By : Friendly Foods Magazine Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Fillings & Frostings Vegetarian Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 tablespoons Canola oil OR corn oil OR margarine 2 cups cabbage -- finely diced 1 cup red onion -- finely diced 1 teaspoon caraway seeds 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 2 teaspoons garlic -- minced 1 teaspoon sea salt 2 teaspoons smoked yeast 1 cup hot water 1/2 cup garbanzo flour *You can make smoked yeast by adding 2 drops of natural liquid hickory smoke to regular or nutritional yeast. Heat the oil in a large a skillet. Add the cabbage, onions and all seasonings. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
