Quick Chili

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

2 cups water

2 cups cooked pinto beans

1/2 cup TVP granules

OR

1/2 pound frozen tofu -- thawed, squeezed dry, and torn or cubed

1 14 oz can diced tomatoes or tomato sauce

1/2 cup green pepper -- chopped

1 small onion -- chopped

OR

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 clove garlic -- crushed

OR

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves (optional) -- chopped

 

Combine everything in a saucepan, and heat to boiling. Reduce to a simmer, cook

for about 10 minutes, and serve.
