Guest guest
Just bought a bag of lentils to try something new...Anyone know of good recipes that work with lentils? I am not a soup fan, so that won't work for me! Any ideas would be very helpful! Thanks! Beth

We have since adapted the recipe using lentils. Here is my hubby's recipe...its wonderful cold as sandwiches! @@@@@ Lentil Loaf 1 lb dried lentils, cooked 2 cups rolled oats 2 eggs or egg substitute salt, to taste pepper, to taste 2 tsp garlic 1 medium onion, chopped small amount of liquid smoke if you like it (we use Wright's because its OU kosher) 1 envelope manwich sloppy joe mix (again, 'cause its kosher) Cook the lentils till they're soft but not overly mushy. Once cooled, add remaining ingredients and mix well. Form into a loaf and bake at 350F for about 45 minutes. We also put ketchup on top just like the " real " thing. _____ My favorite way to eat it is to chill it in the fridge and have it as cold sandwiches the next day. ;-) Hope this helps!
