Guest guest Posted August 8, 2000 Report Share Posted August 8, 2000 * Exported from MasterCook * Chocolate Turtle Brownie Sundaes Recipe By :Cooking Light, April 2000 Serving Size : 16 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Desserts Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- Fudge Sauce BROWNIES: Cooking spray 3 tablespoons butter -- or stick margarine 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate 1 large egg 1 large egg white 2 tablespoons water 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2/3 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup sugar 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 tablespoon fat-free milk 10 small soft caramel candies 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped pecans SUNDAES 4 cups vanilla low-fat frozen yogurt 1. Prepare Fudge Sauce. 2. Preheat oven to 350°. 3. To prepare brownies, coat bottom of an 8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray. 4. Combine butter and chocolate in a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at HIGH 1 minute, and stir until melted. Add egg and egg white, stirring with a whisk. Stir in water and vanilla. Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups, and level with a knife. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, and baking powder, and stir into chocolate mixture. Spread half of batter in bottom of prepared pan. Combine milk and candies in a small microwave-safe bowl, Microwave at HIGH 1 1/2 minutes, and stir until melted. Drizzle caramel mixture over batter in pan; sprinkle with pecans. Drop remaining batter by tablespoonfuls over pecans. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out almost clean. Cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into 16 squares. 5. To prepare the sundaes, top each brownie with 1/4 cup frozen yogurt and 2 tablespoons Fudge Sauce. Yield: 16 servings.
