Herbed Yogurt Sauce

Recipe By : Everyday Cooking with Dr. Dean Ornish, page 147

Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00

Categories : Sauces And Marinades

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

-------- ------------ --------------------------------

3/4 cup nonfat plain yogurt

2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint

2 teaspoons minced jalapeno chile

1 teaspoon fresh lime juice

1 teaspoon brown sugar

SERVES 4

A dollop of this lively sauce complements both the lentil salad and the

stuffed tomatoes. You may decide it's something you want to keep in your

refrigerator all the time for drizzling on sandwiches, sliced tomatoes,

steamed vegetables, or salad greens.

In a small bowl, combine yogurt, cilantro, mint, chili, lime juice, and

sugar. Stir until well mixed. Serve immediately or refrigerate up to 2 days.

TIP: It may sound unlikely, but this creamy sauce makes an irresistible dip

for fresh melon or pineapple.
