Guest guest Posted July 29, 2000 Report Share Posted July 29, 2000 * Exported from MasterCook * Fruit Pie-Cake Recipe By :Bon Appétit, July 1977 Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Desserts Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 stick softened butter or margarine 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 6-ounce package chopped nuts 2 beaten egg whites 2 baskets strawberries or blueberries 1 tablespoon sugar 1 cup whipped cream -- sweetened to taste Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix first four ingredients together thoroughly. Set aside ½ cup of mixture. Add egg whites to remaining flour-nut mixture and blend thoroughly. Spread into a buttered 9-inch pie tin, covering the sides and bottom evenly. Thoroughly dry berries and heap into pie tin. Sprinkle with sugar and top with reserved 1/2 cup flour-nut mixture.
