Its basically a very flavourful broth and a great started for a indian meal. Jenn Ottawa, Ontario, Canada http://tlotc.dhs.org/jenn/ * Exported from MasterCook * ADRAK Recipe By : Bruce Cost, " Ginger East to West " Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : <1 Point Done By Dotties Calculator Indian Low-Fat Soups Vegetarian Ginger East to West Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 tablespoons grated ginger root 4 cups water -- or vegetable stock 3/4 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon cumin seed -- toasted 1/2 teaspoon black pepper juice of one lemon fresh coriander leaves Put grated ginger & stock into a pot & bring to a boil. Simmer 30 minutes till the water has reduced by half. Add salt, cumin & pepper. Simmer for another 2 minutes. Squeeze in lemon juice & garnish with coriander. Excellent as a cold remedy & as a starter to an Indian meal. Makes 4 (1 cup) servings.
