Tomato Sauce

3 cups tomato sauce

6 cloves garlic -- mashed

8 fresh basil leaves -- chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

salt to taste

 

Heat olive oil in a heavy sauce pan.

 

Add garlic and stir for a few seconds. Make sure not to burn the garlic.

 

Pour in tomato sauce. Stir, cover and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes.

 

Add basil and seasoning. Continue to cook over low heat for 5 minutes.

 

Yield:
