Guest guest Posted July 11, 2000 Report Share Posted July 11, 2000 Here is another vegan recipe its for fake buttermilk biscuits each biscuit is 1.52 points, not bad I may try these soon:) Jenn Ottawa, Ontario, Canada http://tlotc.dhs.org/jenn/ * Exported from MasterCook * FAKE BUTTERMILK BISCUITS Recipe By : " Vegetarian Gourmet " Issue #11 Serving Size : 18 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : 2 Point Bakery Breads Breakfast Low-Fat Tofu And Soy Products Vegan Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/4 cup soy milk 2 tablespoons lemon juice 8 ounces tofu, firm -- silken 2 tablespoons white miso 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda Preheat oven to 450F & oil baking sheets. Combine soy milk & lemon juice & let stand for 5 minutes. Blend tofu until smooth & then blend in the soy milk/lemon juice mixture along with hte miso. Set aside. Sift together the dry ingredients & fold into the blended mixture. Turn onto a lightly floured surface & form into a ball. Roll out dough to a 1/2 " thickness. Cut with a cookie cutter. Put on baking sheets & bake for 12 minutes or until golden.
