Guest guest
* Exported from MasterCook * Hot Lettuce Recipe By : Serving Size : 2 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 tablespoon light salad oil (I used 1 teaspoon) sprinkling Salt & Pepper 1 small piece of garlic 1/2 head iceberg lettuce 1 tablespoon oyster sauce thinned with sherry* Break lettuce into pieces with your hands as for a salad. Pat dry. Heat oil in wok, add salt, pepper and garlic. Stir quickly and remove garlic. Add lettuce. Stir briskly. This should take 2 minutes (it took me 30 seconds). Add oyster sauce, stir and cover. Cook 1 minute, serve at once. (I served it without the extra minute of cooking. It was ready. I guess romaine cooks faster than iceberg 'cause it doesn't need to thaw.** Lettuce should retain it's fresh greeness and crispness. See where it says " 2 " servings? Hubby ate most of it 'til I reminded him we were sharing the lettuce. * I couldn't find the vegan oyster sauce in the fridge, so I used World Harbors Maui Mountain Tropical Style HOT TERIYAKI Sauce & Marinade and didn't thin it because it's already liquidy. It's also too spicy. I'll use it up but won't buy it again. There are other sauces put out by this company that aren't this HOT and I shall investigate those. Bought it at Drug Emporium for $2.29/ 18 ozs. It's also at Whole Foods. ** OK, sorry. Dumb joke. Nutr. Assoc. : 0 0 0 0
