Guest guest
I've been dying to make these cookies ever since the March issue of Bon Appetit came into my house but I couldn't find Heath Bars anywhere. I finally found them this past weekend in a mall nearby. Yeah. So, here they are...boy were they good. They are far from vegan (dairy in the cookies and in the heath bars) but they are sooo good. If you are vegetarian but not vegan you can enjoy these, when wanting to treat yourself. They are far from low fat too. For a treat, they are worth every bite! * Exported from MasterCook * Giant Chocolate-Toffee Cookies Recipe By : Bon Appetit, March 2000, p. 158 Serving Size : 18 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Full Fat Cookies Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1 lb bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate -- chopped 1/4 cup unsalted butter (1/2 stick) 1 3/4 cups brown sugar (packed) 4 lg eggs 1 tbsp vanilla extract 5 1.4 oz Heath Bars -- coarsely chopped 1 cup walnuts -- toasted & chopped Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a small bowl; whisk to blend. Store airtight at room temperature.) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES : Risa's notes: * I used the microwave. My microwave is 1450 watts. It was 2 times at 20 seconds and 1 at 15 seconds to get the chocolate and butter melted and mixed together. RisaG
