Guest guest Posted June 21, 2000 Report Share Posted June 21, 2000 One of my favorites. * Exported from MasterCook * Seitan Bourguignonne Recipe By : Serving Size : 3 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Favorites Pasta Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 tablespoon sesame oil -- or soy margarine 1 large onion 8 mushrooms -- (8-10) sliced 1 1/2 cups seitan -- (1 1/2 to 2) sliced 1 1/2 tablespoons whole wheat flour 1 tablespoon soy sauce pinch pepper 1/2 bay leaf 1/2 teaspoon thyme 1 cup dry red wine -- MIXED WITH 1/3 cup water 6 ounces fettucine parsley -- for garnish Heat oil or margarine in a skillet and saute onions over low heat for 5 minutes. Add mushrooms and saute together briefly, then add seitan and brown lightly. Sprinkle with flour and toss to coat evenly and roast slightly. Add soy sauce, pepper, and herbs, and wine mixture to just cover the seitan. Stir genly then simmer, covered, for 20-30 minutes. Cook the noodles according to directions on the package. After cooking and draining, divide the noodles and place in individual serving bowls.
