My boyfriend even liked it even though he knew there was no meat in it and that was tvp (textured vegetable protien) in it Jenn Ottawa, Ontario, Canada http://tlotc.dhs.org/jenn/ * Exported from MasterCook * JENN'S PASTA AND SAUCE WITH TVP AND CORN ON THE COB Recipe By : Jennifer Hall <ladyevelyn Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : 12 Point Done By Dotties Calculator Low-Fat Meatless Dishes Pasta Tofu And Soya Products Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 450 grams pasta shells -- 1/2 pkg 24 ounces Unico pasta sauce, garlic -- 1 can 1 cup TVP granules -- dry 2 cups boiling water -- to reconstitute tvp 1 chopped onion 2 stalks chopped celery salt and pepper -- to taste garlic -- to taste hot sauce -- to taste italian seasoning -- to taste 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese 4 corn on the cob 2 tablespoons butter salt and pepper -- to taste Reconstitute TVP with boiling water, let sit 10 min, drain water. Cook corn on the cob in a pot full of boiling water for about 10min till corn is tender. In the meantime cook pasta, about 15min, drain, then add onion, celery, TVP, and canned pasta sauce and spices. Mix all together and heat up for about 5 min. Divide into 4 servings and top with 1/2 tbsp parmesan cheese on each plate. Add a corn on the cob and top with 1/2 tbsp of butter on each and top with sal and pepper to taste. Makes 4 (approx 2 cup) servings plus 1 corn on the cob.
