Thanks for giving me the courage to ask what is kombu?I,ve been cooking

chickpeas for years but I have never heard of chickpeas in kombu.

Kombu is dried seaweed that comes in " sticks " . A piece or two are used when

cooking beans; supposedly it helps tenderize them.
