Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

-------- ------------ --------------------------------

1 cup dried soybeans

1/8 teaspoon canola oil

1/8 teaspoon garlic salt

Using a strainer under cold running water, rinse soybeans. Transfer to a lareg

bowl, cover with water and soak 8 hours or overnight. Drain and pat dry.

In a nonstick skillet, cook soybeans over high heat, shaking the skillet back

and forth, as if making popcorn. Continue for approximately 3 to 4 minutes,

then reduce heat to medium-high; cook, still shaking the skillet periodicallly,

for another 8 minutes or until the beans have browned.

In a small bowl, stir together oil and garlic salt. Add to skillet and cook,

still shaking, another 2 minutes. Allow beans to cool 5 minutes before serving.
