Guest guest
Yesterday I looked at copies of several of the past cookbook-of-the-week in the used book store. It was interesting to see that American Wholefoods Cuisine by the Goldbecks was published in 1982 or 1983 and must be somewhat of a classic by now. It had no visual appeal and I quickly returned it to the shelves. Cooking Vegetarian the Lazy Way by Barbara Grunes, which was last weeks book is rather new and part of a lazy way series of books on cooking and other topics. It wasn't appealing either. I did buy a used copy of Follow your Heart's Vegetarian Soup Cookbook, by Janice Cook MIgliaccio. It had a good personality/feel, plus I like soup recipes. Follow your Heart is/was a vegetarian restaurant and natural food store in Canoga Park, CA. Anyone familiar with this restaurant? For the first time in months I do own a featured cookbook, the BH & G one for this week. I really enjoy this rather new cookbook which has one recipe per page and a large color photo of almost every recipe, because the recipes are ones using wholesome natural ingredients that we have around the house, not unusual items. I can hand it to my husband and ask him what he wants to eat and it all looks so good that he can't make up his mind--I tried that yesterday :-) And almost everything in this cookbook can be made in less than one hour.
