Although it's been a long time since my boys were at this stage, this recipe

reminds me of " toddler food " . It would make a good snack for grown-ups too.

Monkeys in a Blanket

1 slice whole grain bread

honey or honey-sweetened preserves

1/2 banana

1/2 tablespoon melted butter

cinnamon

 

Preheat oven or toaster oven to 400ºF. Roll bread flat with a rolling pin and

trim crust. Spread with a think layer of honey or preserves. Place banana half

on bread and wrap jelly-roll fashion.

 

Melt butter in a shallow baking dish in preheating oven or toaster oven tray.

Allow 1 tablespoon for each whole banana. Roll bread-covered banana in melted

butter, sprinkle with cinnamon, and bake for 15 minutes until crust is crisp and

banana is hot and creamy.
