Guest guest Posted May 8, 2000 Report Share Posted May 8, 2000 * Exported from MasterCook * Yogurt Pound Cake Recipe By : American Wholefoods Cuisine Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Cakes Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 cups plus 2T whole wheat flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom -- or the crushed seeds from 2 pods -- (optional) 1/2 cup butter 3/4 cup honey 3 eggs 1 teaspoon almond extract 1 cup yogurt Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix dry ingredients. Cream butter and honey in a large bowl. When smooth, beat in eggs one at a time. Beat in extract. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with yogurt, stirring smooth after each addition. Pour batter into an oiled, floured 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Rap on counter to remove air. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes until top is golden and cake tests done. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then remove to a rack.
