Guest guest
Earlier this week I served rutabagas slightly different and it was both quick and a real treat. I slice the rutabagas and chop it in the food processor with an apple. Normally at this point I would add a little maple syrup and maybe cinnamon, microwave for about 4 minutes. This week, instead, I added dried cranberries and about 2 tbsp of brown rice syrup. It was so delicious and the cranberries really made the dish look festive. On another day I planned on brown and wild rice and eat because I know it's good for me but I don't really enjoy it. I wondered to myself how I could change it. I added dried cranberries and blanched almonds. Then I sauteed some onion until it was caramelized. The onions gave a wonderful flavor and was a great complement to the tart cranberries. We really enjoyed this.
